Why people keep saying that Steve is laughing his ass off, I have no idea. As if Steve has time to browse MacRumors when the largest Apple event of the year is under two days away.

in the middle of way open area at Union Square Park in NYC had 2 dropped calls. Customer services response? Install app on iphone that lets us know where your call was dropped. Sure let me do your work, and pay for that privalage.
And how do you expect them to find out what is going on? Magic? All they wanted you to do was install an app that would let them run a diagnosis. Are they supposed to send some one over to you to take your phone and install it for you?
You do realize that that would increase the time it would take them to find the problem by, a helluva lot vs. the few seconds it would take you to install that app. And it would be wasting a lot of gas and pay time to send that person out for something you could do in a few seconds.
How lazy can you be to complain that they dare want you to do a few seconds of work so they can help you?
I've never come across a company that will baby the customer that much. Apple still insists I drive my computer over to their store for them to look at. When I was calling in about a broken monitor, I had to *gasp*, look for the serial number on my computer for Gateway. I guess you'd expect them to send some one over to do that for me?

Hmm, interesting read. Seems lots of updates recently. Gone from 43 million to 120 million users in the last few years. Quite impressive database based multi-channel document handling and communication app. Useful replication of databases so that work can be done offline, and updated when next online.
Lots of gotchas tho, see the criticisms in the article. Notable that they only implemented a number-of-unread-emails count in the 2003 edition. :eek:

On a side note, I distinctly remember a PostSecret from a few years back that said "Red Cross - FYI I still donate" and the picture was of 2 men kissing. I don't think it should be a screening question, but if you are gay and know that you're "normal" and safe when it comes to sex, what are the chances you get busted for lying??

And the engine choices suck because there are so many stupid people here who believe only a V6 or a V8 is a good engine while a TDI or a turbocharged 4 cylinder can have the same or better performance. Especially since you can't drive fast here anyway.
There is hope. One example: I'm no SUV fan, but the new Ford Explorer features engine choices (particularly the turbo 4 cylinder) that should significantly improve fuel economy over previous models. It's at least a small step in the right direction.

I thought you had gotten rid of the dock but kept the apps and whatnot and just had a black strip(geektool pic probably). Didn't realize that the dock just blended in with the black strip.

Hello, it is of my understanding that outlook keeps all of my emails saved locally on the computer. Is this true?

As a verizon customer, I didn't run out and get the iPhone for 2 reasons:
1. I figured the iPhone 5 would be out in June
2. Verizon isn't as lenient about moving up your New Every Two date as they used to be.
My contract ends in April 2012, but Verizon told me I can upgrade this December when the iPhone 5 (allegedly) comes out :)

This has to be the worst MacWorld in my recollection. I was super excited to see a Leopard demo, and to order iLife '07 and iWork '07. Especially iWork, which I use all the time.
The name change scares me. The iPhone is useless to me since it is super expensive, and Cingular won't touch South Dakota with a 200 mile pole.
And the Apple tv? Please. If it had DVR capability, I'd be on board. But, everything has to go through iTunes.
My only highlight of the day wasn't even in the keynote, and that's the new AirPort Extreme Base Station. I'll probably get one of those sometime this Spring when I get married. Oh well.
This was a sad day that I got way too excited for. I fear the Mac is getting replaced by Steve's stupid little toy called iPhone.

Linksys does not suport Macs at all
you can use the standard routers and switches but anything that requries a driver... wont happen.
there are some open souce drivers out there for wireless products.. but I dont know if they suport linksys yet or not

got a question.. how do i embed the music video from nek's website into a personal webpage? I have tried to use the embed code, which shows the video fine in a little window within safari.. however when i go to view it in ie 6 on any win xp machine i get a white box with an unhighlighted scroll.. so yeah, im tryin to embed the almeno stavolta video in the quicktime format..

Here's my current set-up. I'm looking for a good xmas Mail icon and maybe one for Safari and FF. I know what I'd like, but I'm not a Photoshop guy at all. Also, the Mail icon looks like it's sitting on the dock in an odd manner. Kind of bugging me, but I can't find a different, Christmas-y one.

I'm not so fussed about any photos of it or demo models just so long as they announce it IS happening and what to expect.
